Grad School Update

via UrbanOutfitters
Well, tomorrow is the last day of my first 5-week rotation. I gave a 30 minute presentation in lab meeting today (woot -- first grad school presentation under the belt) and I'd say the rotation was fairly successful.

I'm definitely feeling more confident about grad school now. Its a lot of work (although everyone says first semester is the hardest) but I enjoy it.

It's funny. Some days I leave thinking "Wow, I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this" and other days I think "They are sooo not paying me enough to do this." Well I guess that's just life. And,  I am incredibly thankful that I can go to school and be supported financially.

Random Professor Quote from Class

Prof:  "I used to have this dream that I was watching a polytene chromosome during transcription"

  1. I think anyone who's worked in any facet of the education system has had the same thought "… I can't believe I get paid to do this! …They don't pay me enough to do this!" I have no clue what your professor was talking about in his quote… but then again science has never been my strong suit… at all.
