Peace

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (Isaiah 26:3-4)

Stress really gets to me. It first affects my mind which in turn wreaks havoc on my body. Stress can make me feel tired, depressed, anxious, impatient, and negative. I hate stress and I hate allowing it to control me. A few ways that I keep reminding myself are healthy ways to reduce stress levels so that God's power may have total reign over my mind and my heart.

Meditate.  upon the Word of God.Sometimes I listen to an audio version of the Bible as I go about my day. Other times I will select a passage of scripture to transcribe. Sometimes I just read the Word and reflect on it. Sometimes I will pray the Word back to God.

Pray. I must let the Lord be my strength and my source of life. Rather than letting negative thoughts take over my mind, I can surrender them to the Lord; I can express my concerns and know they will be taken care of by my Creator.

Side Notes:
Just add Tea. Sometimes there is nothing like hot brewed herbs to relieve stress. And it will not give you the sugar rush/crash that eating ice-cream and candy does...not that I've ever done that.

Get Out. Rather than dwelling on the bad, find something active to occupy your time. Working out will release endorphins and you can even memorize scripture while you're on the treadmill.
